| Simposio sobre Piazzolla en CUNY* El viernes 10 de marzo del 2000 se llevó a cabo un simposio titulado "The Music of Astor Piazzolla" en la City University of New York (CUNY). El simposio, organizado y dirigido por el Profesor Allan Atlas (CUNY), representó la primera reunión académica dedicada enteramente a Piazzolla organizada en los EEUU. El programa consistió de las siguientes presentaciones: Allan Atlas (Graduate Center, CUNY), "Piazzolla: Tangos, Funerals, and 'Blue Notes'" Ulrich Krämer (Arnold Schönberg Gesantausgabe, Berlin), "Harmony and Form in Maria de Buenos Aires" Malena Kuss (North Texas University), "The Referential Poetics of Astor Piazzolla" David B. Cannata (Temple University), "Piazzolla's New York Concerts" En la noche del simposio, y luego de una recepción, tuvo lugar en CUNY un concierto de Pablo Ziegler y el Quinteto para Tango Nuevo. Piazzolla Symposium at CUNY* On Friday March 10, 2000 a symposium titled "The Music of Astor Piazzolla" was held at the City University of New York (CUNY). The symposium, organized and moderated by Professor Allan Atlas (CUNY), represents the first academic conference devoted solely to Piazzolla organized in the US. The program consisted of the following presentations: Allan Atlas (Graduate Center, CUNY), "Piazzolla: Tangos, Funerals, and 'Blue Notes'" Ulrich Krämer (Arnold Schönberg Gesantausgabe, Berlin), "Harmony and Form in Maria de Buenos Aires" Malena Kuss (North Texas University), "The Referential Poetics of Astor Piazzolla" David B. Cannata (Temple University), "Piazzolla's New York Concerts" On the evening of the symposium, and following a reception, CUNY hosted a concert by Pablo Ziegler and the Quintet for New Tango.
